Today I contacted all the Oslo-based zebrafish enthusiasts with the aim to create an active community, where we meet for seminars and talk about our respective research projects. While there are few dedicated zebrafish research groups, there are in fact a growing number of researchers within research groups that have started working with zebrafish. With the European Zebrafish Meeting coming up in June, we need to have a united front from the Norwegian side!
ZIG stands for Zebrafish Interest Group, and will consist of monthly meetings at the different research institutes around Oslo where zebrafish enthusiasts work. So far the response from the potential participants has been very positive, and I look forward to our first meeting in March!
